Route 66 hut tour

Experience the beauty of the Liechtenstein Alps on the Route 66 hut tour. This three-day tour takes you along scenic ridge paths, past idyllic alpine meadows and through romantic valleys. Look forward to breathtaking sunrises, cozy hut evenings and the warm hospitality of the region. The package does not include the complete Route 66 to Ruggell, but ends in Planken - all the main highlights of the route are nevertheless included.

Program:

Day 1:

If you arrive the day before, you can enjoy a relaxing night in the valley or directly in the mountain village of Malbun. The first day of hiking begins in Malbun. From there, you can reach the Sareiserjoch at 2,000 meters on foot or by chairlift. From here, you follow the "Fürstin Gina" trail the Augstenberg mountain 2358 meters. A scenic route with bright alpine flowers and impressive views awaits you. After about four hours of hiking, the cozy Pfälzerhütte hut 2108 meters awaits you with dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 2:

Early risers can look forward to a special experience: sunrise on Naafkopf mountain 2,570 meters, where the borders of Liechtenstein, Switzerland, and Austria meet. You should plan on about two and a half hours for the ascent and descent. Back at the Pfälzerhütte hut , a hearty breakfast Pfälzerhütte hut you for the next stage. The trail leads over Alp Gritsch through Valüna valley idyllic Valüna valley Gänglesee lake Steg. This section takes around four hours.

Once you arrive at Gänglesee lake , you have two options: You can either hike on to your accommodation and enjoy wonderful views of the valley on the way, or you can opt for the bus. You can spend the night in the Berggasthaus MATU on Gaflei or in a hotel in Triesenberg. You can reach your destination on foot in around one and a half hours, depending on the location of your accommodation. Alternatively, take the LIEmobil bus no. 21 from "Steg, Tunnel" to "Triesenberg, Dorfzentrum". If you are staying overnight at the Berggasthaus MATU , change there to line 22 to "Gaflei, Matu".

Day 3:

After a hearty breakfast, the tour continues from Gaflei. If you Berggasthaus MATU at Berggasthaus MATU , you can start right outside the front door. If you stayed overnight in Triesenberg, the LIEmobil bus line no. 22 will take you comfortably to Gaflei. The highlight of the day is the challenging tour along the Fürstensteig trail the Drei Schwestern mountain chain 2,053 meters. Spectacular mountain climbs and breathtaking views of the Alps and the Rhine Valley await you. Shortly before the day's destination, the Gafadurahütte hut 1,428 meters invites you to take a refreshing break. The tour ends in Planken a total of around five hours of walking. From there, you can take the bus back to your car in Vaduz or Malbun.
