The Liechtenstein fairs
The highlight of village life
Colorful market stalls, the smell of freshly baked bread and a convivial atmosphere - funfairs in Liechtenstein have been an integral part of community life for centuries.
All occasions
Many of the municipalities have their own traditional fair. Locals and guests meet here to stroll through the market stalls, meet friends or ride the "Tütschauto" (bumper cars).

Origin of the fairs
The fair used to coincide with the autumn cattle market. Traders tried to get their goods to farmers or farmers' wives. At the cattle market, prize-winning animals were presented with a gift - money from the state. This was often used to buy essentials, such as clothing, at the market.
Even today, the fairs in Vaduz and Eschen are held at the same time as the premium market.
