Description

With its carefully developed exhibitions and publications on international art after 1945, the young museum has quickly made a name for itself internationally. Many of the museum's exhibitions have been taken over and shown by exhibition venues throughout Europe. The façade of this extraordinary building consists of colored and seamlessly poured concrete made of black basalt rock and colored river gravel. It is treated in such a way that a lively interplay is created on the reflective surface.

The collection of the Liechtenstein Art Museum, which is also the state art collection of the Principality of Liechtenstein, is characterized in particular by three-dimensional works of art: sculptures, installations and objects. Arte Povera and Post-Minimal Art form the focal points of the collection. The collection is displayed in temporary presentations to accompany the major temporary exhibitions on international art of the 20th and 21st centuries.
