Chest of the thief
This legend from Eschen tells of a woman who was always on the move with a mysterious chest. What seemed harmless was actually a clever trick.
A sturdy woman lived in Eschen who always carried a large chest on her back. A little man was hidden in this chest, and when she stopped at an inn, she always asked for the chest to be placed in a room. There the little man got out of his chest and stole everything of value from the room.
