Old boundary marker

The boundary stone is a historic site in southern Liechtenstein. The well-known legend of “Strong Jörg” is told around the stone: For a long time, there was disagreement between Balzers and Maienfeld over where the border should run. The strong Jörg from Balzers was therefore tasked with carrying the heavy boundary stone—which four men from Graubünden had brought to him with great effort—as far south as possible. The border was ultimately established at the spot where he first set the stone down.
