Description

The Old Rhine Bridge Vaduz-Sevelen is a real landmark and the last remaining wooden bridge over the Rhine. Completed in 1901, the 135-metre-long covered bridge impresses with its historic charm.

A wooden bridge had stood in the same place 30 years earlier, which had to be raised twice due to the correction of the Rhine. After the dam burst in Schaan in 1927, the new bridge was also raised again to withstand the rising waters.

The Old Rhine Bridge was extensively renovated in 2009 and 2010 and has shone in new splendor ever since. Today it is open exclusively to non-motorized traffic and is particularly popular with cyclists. A walk or bike ride across the bridge offers wonderful views of the Rhine and the surrounding countryside.
