For two weeks, the Engländerbau Art Space will serve Engländerbau Art Space a large-scale studio open to the public, hosting 19 artists divided into six groups. After that, the studio space will transform into an exhibition space.

Description

In a time of profound upheaval, “The One” draws our attention to what unites us.

With this group exhibition, Visarte Liechtenstein is focusing on community: the emphasis is on collaborative work, and the focus is less on the finished piece and more on the creative process of working together.

Five groups, each consisting of three artists—and one group of four—will develop their work through on-site dialogue during the first two weeks of the exhibition. During this period, the Engländerbau Art Space will function Engländerbau Art Space a large-scale studio open to the public. When visiting the exhibition, the public will experience artistic creation as a living process and gain insight into the development of works through various forms of collaborative practice. The groups are supported and guided by curator Antonella Barone.

After two weeks of collaborative work, the space transforms: the studio setting gives way to an exhibition space. During the remaining four weeks, the completed works or works-in-progress will be exhibited in the art space. Following the opening, Visarte Liechtenstein will host an extended gathering every Friday evening for a social get-together in and around the KollaborierBAR created by Zirkulie Liechtenstein.

Liechtenstein’s diverse art and culture scene, along with all interested visitors, will find Engländerbau Art Space temporary shared space here at Engländerbau Art Space —a place for exchange and fellowship amidst the collaboratively created contemporary art and the work produced by the six exhibiting groups.

In this way, everyone can become an active part of the process-oriented nature of this exhibition format—and, hopefully, of something that will continue to have an impact in one way or another even after the exhibition has ended: “The One.”
