Liechtenstein way

By car
You can leave your car at the first hotel for free during your entire trip and pick it up again at the end of the trip.

By public transport
From your starting point, you can travel by train to Sargans/Buchs (CH) or Feldkirch (A). From there, you can board a LIEmobil bus and travel comfortably to your first hotel. The bus ride is free with a valid Adventure Pass from all three stations mentioned.

Arrival at the start of the hike:

  • From Haus Gutenberg, Balzers: approx. 25 minutes on foot to the start at the old border stone in the direction of Luzisteig
  • From Hotel Schatzmann, Triesen: Take bus 11 or 13 from the bus stop "Triesen, Maschlina" to "Balzers, Höfle", from there approx. 20 minutes on foot to the start at the old border stone in the direction of Luzisteig
  • From a hotel in Vaduz: Take bus 11 or 13 from the bus stop "Vaduz, Post" or "Vaduz, Au" (for guests at the Giessen Hotel & Coffeehouse) to "Balzers, Höfle", from there approx. 20 minutes on foot to the start at the old border stone in the direction of Luzisteig

All hotels in the package are selected hotels located directly on the Liechtenstein Trail.

More and more hotels are using modern self-check-in systems. Check-in is very simple using your name or the booking number you received from the hotel.

In the hotels with service, a packed lunch is prepared for you every day - perfect for your hike along the Liechtenstein Trail. In the self-check-in hotels, you can put together your own packed lunch at the breakfast buffet. At the first hotel, you will receive a practical picnic bag that you can use along the entire route.

For a carefree experience, label your suitcases legibly with the label you receive at check-in. Leave your luggage at the hotel reception by 09:00 at the latest - we will make sure that it is ready for you at the next hotel by 17:00. At hotels with self-check-in, you will find a signposted area where you can leave your luggage securely. If you are traveling in a group, please make a note of the name of the contact person for your booking.

Enjoy regional and international cuisine on your way - you will find numerous excellent restaurants along the route. Please check the current opening times in advance so that you are not faced with closed doors (frequent closing days: Saturday, Sunday and Monday).

Prepared for any weather - here you will find the latest weather forecasts for Liechtenstein so that you can plan your day accordingly.

And remember: there's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes ;-)

We recommend that you walk the Liechtenstein Trail in hiking boots. You don't necessarily need hiking poles, but they can come in handy on the climbs. Don't forget a water bottle: along the route you will find fountains with fresh drinking water where you can fill them up.

After successfully completing the Liechtenstein Trail, you will receive your personal finisher certificate and a small surprise at the Liechtenstein Center in Vaduz, which is open daily. You can also discover regional souvenirs and specialties there and take them home with you.
