Parish church of St. Peter and Paul

The parish church was consecrated in 1846 and stands on a historically documented church site with roots dating back to Roman times.
Description
The parish church of St. Peter and Paul in Mauren belongs to the Catholic parish of the municipality and was built between 1842 and 1843 according to plans by Laurenz Vogel. The classicist building stands on a site steeped in history: A church was first mentioned here between 1290 and 1298. Excavations between 1986 and 1988 brought to light the foundations of older predecessor buildings and provided evidence of a Roman settlement on the site.
