The interactive installation by Mercedes Azpilicueta (born in 1981 in La Plata, Argentina) invites children and adults to explore, play, and create together.

CaccHho CucchhA unfolds as a resonant space in which movement, touch, and interaction give rise to soft sounds and rhythms. “Cacho” refers to an immeasurable, leftover fragment of time. “Cucha” means shelter or safe place. At the center of the installation, a large-scale tapestry weaves together temporal, geographical, and thematic layers like an open picture book. Play platforms and spatial structures invite participation. Costumes produce sounds and alter the way one moves. As rattling roots, jumping barnacles, scratching cicadas, and rain snails, children and adults compose stories, gestures, and sounds together.

The exhibition was initiated by de Appel in Amsterdam and produced as a co-production. For the Liechtenstein Art Museum , it Liechtenstein Art Museum further developed for children aged 0 to 4 and expanded to include two works by Ferdinand Nigg (1865–1949).

Admission to the exhibition is free.

Regular workshops invite participants to engage in movement, sound, free play, and the creation and telling of stories.

Supported by the Hans Groeber Foundation and other funding partners.
