Project | kollabor. Art+Space for young children
Description
Children from 0 to 4 years and their accompanying adults are cordially invited to the Seitenlichtsaal. This is a place where children can encounter art and engage in free creative play, allowing them to explore their surroundings with all their senses, with their hands and feet.
Since the launch of kollabor, the focal point of this space has been the Civilian Defense Vaduz sculpture: thousands of sandbags offer protection and make you want to explore - with your hands and feet. Just as many elements made of recycled plastic invite visitors to build, sort, lay out, pile up and take apart again. In addition to the permanently installed works by American artist Dan Peterman (*1960 in Minneapolis, Minnesota), there are changing elements that take up the themes of the current exhibitions.
Early aesthetic and cultural experiences and educational experiences are of great importance for a child's development. With kollabor, the Liechtenstein Art Museum makes a contribution to aesthetic education in the field of fine arts and thus to the implementation of UN children's rights from early childhood.
The name "kollabor" also reflects another of the museum's main concerns: to enable and encourage collaborative processes. This means working together with individuals, groups or organizations, learning from each other and engaging in open-ended experiments. The content and forms of use of kollabor are created in a collaborative learning and working process with children, their companions, artists, art educators and teachers.
The project is supported by the Binding Foundation.
