Multivision: New Zealand
Description
Green rainforests, long white sandy beaches, towering snow-capped mountains, and volcanic cones in a vast landscape. Kia Ora New Zealand documents the contrasting country at the most beautiful end of the world. Filipponi has spent more time in New Zealand than in any other country except Switzerland, where he once lived. For this new report, he traveled back to the land of the Kiwis for another six months. His new stage program, 33 years after his first New Zealand multivision.
The South Island is characterized by the central Southern Alps mountain range, which rises to a height of 3,700 meters, and lonely roads along the wild, rugged west coast. The huge Fiordland National Park captivates visitors with its forests, lakes, and fjords, or sounds, as they are called in New Zealand. Gentle bands of clouds drift over the sloping highlands on the east coast with their vast herds of grazing livestock, and over the Pacific coast with its dolphins and whales.
On the North Island, he travels along miles of sandy beaches and through dense subtropical rainforests, past striking volcanic mountains, active hot springs, lush fruit plantations, and encounters Maori culture. Once again, he has brought back many personal stories. He visited a Maori radio station, oyster farms, kiwifruit plantations, met with New Zealand's wine queen, and encountered many more hospitable Kiwis, the inhabitants of New Zealand.
The Winterthur-based travel photographer and storyteller presents this and much more in his multivision photo reportage in his usual skillful presentation style. Viewers are once again thoroughly entertained and amazed, fascinated by all that the country at the most beautiful end of the world has to offer.
