Luigi Archetti: Connected Islands

With Connected Islands, Luigi Archetti creates an immersive, multi-sensory experience at the interface of art and music in the Kunstraum Engländerbau. "Connected Islands" is a metaphor for Luigi Archetti's artistic work, which is characterized by the combination of different forms of artistic expression, the creation of complex reference systems and the bridging of boundaries between visual and auditory experiences. The various elements in the exhibition function as autonomous bodies in space and form a multi-layered system. Within this system, references, analogies, correspondences and resonances can be experienced both in terms of content and aesthetics at the interface of music and art. The interplay of the various works creates immersive, multi-sensory experience spaces for visitors to the exhibition. The series of drawings "Partituren (Resonanzrauschen)" plays a central role. These drawings depict "imaginary music", but are not intended as instructions for musicians. Rather, they are intended to open up a "musically influenced mental space" when viewed. Various materials and objects from the field of music, such as instruments, utensils and microphones, refer to the acoustic world. These objects are also used as plastic-visual material, creating a simultaneous perception of optical and acoustic presence. The exhibition questions the unambiguity of phenomena and concepts. It deliberately provokes interactions between the visible and the audible. This opens up unfamiliar and surprising horizons of meaning and creates resonance and intermediate spaces for "reasoning". The Engländerbau Art Space thus becomes an active resonance space between the visitors and the exhibited works.
