Intellectual property as a competitive advantage
Description
In the first part of this presentation, you will learn why IP (patents, trademarks, designs, etc.) is one of the most important—and most underestimated—value drivers for companies. We dispel the widespread bottom-up logic ("I invent something → I apply for a patent") and show how IP is used strategically to secure market share, increase profits, gain tax advantages, and build long-term competitive advantages.
The second part of the presentation offers a clear, understandable introduction to the world of IP applications—with minimal legal jargon and maximum practical relevance. We cover the basic rules that must be observed when applying for IP protection, and using the "sword and shield" strategy, you will learn how to use IP applications effectively for your company.
Nathalie Nipp, MSc in Physics, established the IP division of the Neutrik Group and now advises companies on economic and organizational IP issues. With her company ISTRAS, she stands for strategic IP management and anchors IP as a central component of corporate strategy.
