Divanhana

Traditional Balkan music with new arrangements away from turbo folk and exuberant schmaltz. It is not without good reason that the current album "Zavrzlama" (which translates roughly as "confusion") reached first place in the world music charts and third place in the annual charts two months after its release. Divanhana was also awarded the coveted Songlines Award 2023 in the best group category by the renowned Songlines magazine. Divanhana from Sarajevo combine urban styles with the Sephardic, Balkan and Turkish roots of their music and bring the traditional Bosnian Sevdah to the world in all its beauty and diversity. The wonderful melodies merge into an imaginative and energetic blend of jazz, folk, modern classical and pop.
