Exhibition | On the street

The history of modernism is closely linked to the white cube. But since the 1960s, artists have been leaving the exhibition space and creating works on the street.
Description
The public perception is dominated by the idea that art takes place in museum spaces. However, since the 1960s in particular, many works have been created on the street. Artists are redefining the boundaries of art. They explore the relationship between private and public space and realize actions that are as radical as they are poetic.
The Liechtenstein Art Museum is dedicating a group exhibition to these themes in spring/summer 2025 with works by Francis Alÿs, Ovidiu Anton, André Cadere, Anna Jermolaewa, Sari Dienes, Tomislav Gotovac, Pope.L, Klara Lidén, Rivane Neuenschwander, Georgia Sagri, Agnès Varda and others.
